Wireless Charging is so stupid. What's the point? Still going to have to buy and carry the accessory to charge it wherever you are. You can't even take it off the charging platform to use it, whereas you can with a cable. I hope this isn't a feature on the next iPhone.

While you're at it, bring fast charging as well. 15 minutes of charging for several hours of usage sounds great.

Apple is always late to the game. This kind of tech has been around for years on android. Don't say Apple is trying to get right because it works damn well already. Apple loves milking these kinds of things because they cannot innovate anymore.

Apple should give the iphone 8 fast charging and make it available for owners with previous iPhones for $10. Ez $1 billion + happy consumers

HAHAHAHA. $649 smartphone with no fast charging, yet potential buyers are excited of wireless charging. Apple better pull-off fast wireless charging to redeem itself.

Wonder if it'll be slow and inefficient like all the phones that have had them the past 5 years.

    People seem to equate:
has wireless charging = has good wireless charging

Nobody uses existing "wireless" charging on their phones because it's slow and impractical. It takes much longer to charge, and you can't use the phone while it's on the charging pad (unless you pick up the entire charging sandwich in your hands…).
Curious to see what Apple does with it because I hope it's different than what's already out there. Otherwise I'd criticize it just the same.

Akin to the mobile wallets argument. Saying "once again, Apple is late to innovation and adopts tech late" is like saying their Apple Pay mobile wallet is "late and therefore stupid" even after mobile wallets & NFC were around for years before Apple Wallet, yet the tech never took off. Then comes along Apple Pay variant, and suddenly all banks are jumping on board and it's immediately the #1 mobile payment solution over all the legacy solutions that have been around for years. So this rhetoric that Apple sucks because they're not the first and worst solution, is cute. After Apple Pay, the competitors come out with Samsung Pay and Android Pay, etc, and according to a recent report, Apple Pay is #1 followed by PayPal and MasterCard PayPass (wtf, who ever heard of MasterCard Pay Pass?). Samsung Pay and Android pay aren't even top 3. So yeah, I'd rather have the right tech at the right time done correctly, than be the first to market with a lame product that nobody ends up adopting but people praise it as being "first". Kool, you keep the kudos of being first. And be okay with being called the worst. I think I prefer the better solution down the road, thanks. I think it's called deferred gratification….resisting a smaller but more immediate reward in order to receive a larger or more enduring reward later. That's one of Apple's characteristics. They're never the first, but always the best.

Looks like Apple's innovation pool is draining, they are no longer the pioneer in the tech industry.
