Fired for not drinking the kool aid of the left. Next Google will fire employees for saying only women can give birth. Biological differences are obvious to anyone gifted with a brain

I haven't read the memo but this seems awful. If there was no biological differences we would all be "dudes". Evolution has selected for certain traits in genders to ensure the species survival. And we can't deny that those differences can influence higher functions. That does not mean that women are bad at programming but it can mean they are statistically less interested in the current type of programming. Apparently they are better at AI development so things might change. But one can't ignore biological and social biases (also caused in part by biology) and demand a 50/50 ratio in two or three generations of programmers. We need to encourage not punish and fire people because of this potentially permanent bias.

I'm starting to believe this type of reactions are caused by stupidity and the fact that big technology corporations imagine that a bigger pool of coders would decrease their costs by lowering wages.

If they really wanted to maintain quality and implement a fair system they should hire based on extensive online problem solving tests and not ask for gender or ethnicity and also cut face to face interviews. Like they do for orchestra auditions. In the curent state of the world this would probably cause a white sausage fest but slowly things would reach a "genetic equilibrium". Where all the people that want to be programmers and can pe programmers would be hired based on their skill level no natter their color or gender.

The writer was not "anti-diversity". He was just against what Google is doing. And he's right.

My God, this man thinks that biology is a thing that exists and that the biological differences between men and women can sometimes make differences in the decisions that we make in life. Jesus Christ grab your pitchforks everyone and let's take down this sexist bigot.

Google wants money, only looks for cheap, hard working and intelligent workers whether males, females, gays or even animals.

Where does google draw the line with what's acceptable in their 'code of conduct'? What if someone doesn't agree with a religion, ideology, certain groups etc.? You can't say disagreement is the same as hate speech. This just opens the door to more censorship.

If I teach my daughter to be a good engineer, she will be a good engineer.
If my daughter goes to school and gets good enough grades to graduate, she does good enough on the Google interviews to be hired, then I don't see where some non described biological differences come into play. He states biological differences in general which just sounds like a platitude.
He puts out this memo that was misogynist and got canned. I would understand men and especially women who would not want to work with someone who thinks they are inferior. Forget that guy.

Express dissent? Sure. Go against the liberal grain at Google. And you too will be fired just like this guy was.

Time for this guy to call up a good lawyer and sue Google for every penny that they can squeeze out of them..

What a joke. You can dissent, but only if you don't hurt the feelings of other employees. Good luck with that, Google.

Feel free to express decent, but if you do, you'll be fired. Google making tolerance intolerant again. The thought police are hard at work in Silicon Valley.

His detailed description of biological gender differences had no scientific support and is supporting gender stereotypes. While scientific research do support over and over again that environment for which kids grow up in matters overwhelmingly. Fire his ass! Somebody has to stand up to ideological biggotry.

I never know what to make of the downvotes on videos like this one… I think the video itself was well done, not taking sides too heavily, which should be noted positively. But on the other hand I can understand why you would downvote the video to express criticism towards Google's actions. It's a strange situation for me.

Ita so scummy that a lot of media outlets are calling it anti diversity. The guy disagreed with the methods used to remedy a lack of diversity, not the idea or concept. How disappoining is it that you can so eloquently and with so much detail outline your thoughts only for the media to just brazenly strawman everything you said and label you racist.
